Francesco Mazzi, 'goldsmith of painting'
A gallery in the heart of Pontremoli
The works of the artist, also known as a chef, exhibited in the spaces of Via Ricci Armani which will be inaugurated tomorrow.
PONTREMOLI
A prestigious art gallery opens in Pontremoli in the historic centre, in Via Ricci Armani 9.
This is the "Mazzi Fine Art Gallery" which will permanently host the works of Francesco Mazzi,
an artist who has created three-dimensional masterpieces with his eclectic vision.
The opening ceremony is set for tomorrow at 11am at Palazzo Dosi Magnavacca in the presence of the city authorities and
at 12pm the ribbon cutting at the nearby gallery.
From high-level chef to total artist, Francesco Mazzi has invented an alchemy of oil paint mixed
with precious pigments producing refined collections intended to enrich important spaces.
The innovative production process involves rare materials such as pure gold and silver being mixed with oil colors according to a unique technique and painted on a surface in bas-relief, underlining the three-dimensionality of the work.
UNESCO awarded Mazzi with two medals for his exceptional quality and originality.
The talent of this artist was praised by Vittorio Sgarbi,
who described him as a «goldsmith of painting» and a «miniaturist of matter and color».
Born in La Spezia, Francesco Mazzi is also a prominent chef who began his culinary journey in California at a young age.
In fact, he developed a passion for Italian cuisine in Los Angeles.
After completing his business studies in Italy, he worked in top restaurants, honing his skills and developing his own unique style.
Following this profession he achieved important successes,
among many others he was executive chef at Borgo La Bagnaia in Siena for three years,
he was appointed consultant chef at the Enoteca Pinchiori in Tokyo and at the Giorgio Armani Ristorante in the Japanese capital.
In January 2020, Mazzi founded his company and created his brand, luxury art with a new concept,
offering both acclaimed works of art and fine dining experiences in his art gallery.
The combination of cuisine and art evokes the first cultural foundations of man.
The food on the plate and the artistic creations on canvas shine like two sides of the same coin, that of creativity.
Just as the alchemists of the past created impossible recipes,
Mazzi today merges the two arts into a single recipe that he calls Mazz fine art.
